Disney Princess Retro Ads Part 2 by PetiteTiaras

Apple Rocks the Rainbow. Again.

Not content with wowing us with Q2 financials, Apple today surprised with astonishing take on its corporate logo - complete with rainbow-coloured translucent squares

Created for this year’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC 2012), the new logo design echoes other recent Apple experiments with its logo branding - and even harks back to its distant past when raindow striping was in vogue.

The new logo design - which dominates the WWDC 2012 website splash page - is certainly a bold, colourful contrast to Apple’s corporate colours, which are almost monolithic in their black, white and silver / grey uniformity.

It proves, if nothing else, that the company remains true to its roots - and still has a certain playfulness that belies the grown-up, sober image it normally likes to portray.

The new logo design - and the announcement of WWDC 2012  - follows hot on the heels of Apple’s best ever Q2 financial results, when it announced it $11.6bn in profits - up a staggering 94% for the same quarter last year.

Alterna-Disney Movie Posters by Rowan Stocks-Moore

Rowan is a technical wizard when it comes to redesigning classic covers to books and films, cutting deep to the core of the film in one simplified image. But his revamped images reflect the darkness inherent in the stories that was glossed over with bright colors and happy little people.

swissted is an ongoing project by graphic designer mike joyce, owner of stereotype design in new york city. drawing from his love of punk rock and swiss modernism, two movements that have (almost) nothing to do with one another, mike has redesigned vintage punk, hardcore, and indie rock show flyers into international typographic style posters. each design is set in berthold akzidenz grotesk medium, all lowercase.every single one of these shows actually happened.”

There are over 200 designs that are all available to buy. See the whole set here.

New typography! Since everyone liked my last MT poster so much I decided I would make this my new project.  My plan is to design a typography poster for each song off of the Ever After album.  If anyone has a request for a specific section of lyrics from a song that you want to see let me know!

So keep your eyes open for more of these typography posters coming soon! And visit my portfolio site to see more of my work!

Underwater Ink Photography by Alberto Seveso

Seveso’s silky plumes of technicolored magma that seems to flow up from vents in the ocean has a slightly more mundane explanation: the artist drops different colored inks into water and captures the velvety aftermath, though the results are just as stimulating.

These are some awesome headphones are made from flexible OLED panels that allow the user to custom design a lighting show or patterns across the band. These custom designs can also be set to your current track or “color groove setting”, scroll any message texts or simply remain whatever color you’re feeling like that day. You can even set it to display the track, artist name, and album artwork of what you’re currently listening to.

Just a concept product right now designed by Min-guk Ji, Hong-joo Kim, and In-oh Yoo from the Metatrend Institute, but I would definitely be interested in buying these if they ever come out.

Branding of The White Rabbit, an Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant in Singapore.

I absolutely love the logo and menu designs and the cards are just great.  Check out their website which is even more awesome. It’s interactive flash with illustrations from Alice in Wonderland.

Right now you can download Photoshop CS6 beta version for free to try out all the new features. Check it out!
